Bespoke Smoked Glass Wardrobes in Battlesden

What The Client Wanted

For this newly built country home in Battlesden, the client wanted a run of fitted wardrobes that would complement the high-end finish of the property. The wardrobes were being created for the principal bedroom and needed to provide plenty of practical storage while becoming a feature of the room in their own right.

With a contemporary interior throughout the home, a standard wardrobe simply wouldn’t have had the same impact. The client wanted something made to measure, with a sleek finish that would work naturally within the space and give the bedroom a more luxurious feel.

Smoked glass was chosen for the wardrobe fronts, bringing a darker, more distinctive look to the room while still allowing the cabinetry to feel elegant and understated.

What Furniche Did

We created a bespoke run of fitted wardrobes specifically for the principal bedroom, making sure the design worked with the proportions and style of the space.

The smoked glass fronts became one of the main features of the design. They give a subtle glimpse of the storage behind while creating a clean, contemporary finish when viewed across the room.

Inside, the wardrobes were planned with everyday use in mind, combining hanging rails, shelving and internal drawers to provide plenty of space for clothing and accessories. Inset lighting was also added, illuminating the interior and making everything easier to find while adding to the overall look of the wardrobes.

As with all our fitted wardrobes in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas, the cabinetry was made to measure rather than adapted from standard-sized units. This allowed us to create a finish that feels like it has always belonged within the room.

The end result is a simple but striking addition to the principal bedroom. The smoked glass brings something a little different to the space, while the lighting and carefully planned interior make the wardrobes practical to use every day.

It’s a great example of how fitted furniture can become part of the overall design of a room rather than simply somewhere to store your clothes.

The completed wardrobes bring together subtle texture, warm finishes, and useful storage in a design that feels considered and built to last. The Travertine-effect doors give the room a distinctive focal point, while the oak interiors make the storage feel just as carefully finished on the inside.

From the initial design through to the final installation, every stage was managed by Furniche, giving the client a fully bespoke result made specifically for their home.
